Hollywood Hill Vineyards – Puget Sound AVAHollywood Hill Vineyards

We have the only commercial sized vineyard in Woodinville, WA. Our vineyard is located on beautiful Hollywood Hill, just south of downtown Woodinville and about a mile east of some of the largest wineries in the state of Washington. Nestled on several acres of former horse pasture, we primarily planted Pinot Noir (70%) and Chardonnay (30%). We planted our vineyard in 2005 by hand.

We are growing three clones of Pinot Noir well suited to our climate. Clones 667, 777 and Pommard. The Pinot Noir clones are known for their early ripening, yet yielding high quality wines. The 667 is planted on 101-14 rootstock and the 777 is planted on 3309. We have a small amount of Pommard on 3309.

The Chardonnay is a single clone, 76 known for its high quality and ability to ripen in cooler climates with more sugar and less acid. All of our vines have been planted on 101-14 and 3309 rootstocks to enhance ripeness and protect against Phylloxera.

We also running experiments with several other grape varieties, and are constantly looking for interesting varieties to plant in the Puget Sound AVA. Some that we have planted on an experimental basis are Auxerrois, Garanoir, St. Laurent, Zweigelt, Pinot Meunier, Regent, Dornfelder and Muller Thurgau
